Day 42

I completed my long run today - 14.9km, 1 hour 30 minutes. I maped it out last night - went down Walker's to Lakeshore, across to Guelph and then back up to Upper Middle. Heading towards the lake was nice - downhill, wind at my back. Heading back up wasn't as nice - but still wasn't too bad.

I went to the Mandarin for Branko's birthday yesterday - and ate like a madman. I rationalized it by reminding myself that I was going to go for a long run today and needed the fuel. I munched on an energy bar about an hour into the run and I've started my "grazing" with a large glass of chocolate milk right after.

I'm going to need a new "drinking system" - the water bottle that I have now that wraps around my waist keeps flying out of the holder when it's full - the liquid sloshing around doesn't keep it secure. Also - the latest update to my runkeeper app is a disappointment so far. It's showing that I ran almost 200 times in December, including 14 times of Christmas day.

It's also officially the first day of Phase II. It'll include two quality training days a week - the first being the long run I just completed. The training plan recommends the first quality run is either on the Saturday or Sunday with the second coming three to four days later. I think I'll adjust my online site - but until then - below are my Week 6 stats.

Week 6
8 runs
65.1km
6 hours 38 minutes
