I went to Chapters and searched for another book on running that might interest me. I found Run Less Run Faster (Pierce, Murr, Moss) that talked about the 3 plus 2 method - 3 runs a week and 2 cross training sessions - either rowing, cycling, swimming etc. The idea is that the cross training gives your body time to repair itself from pounding the pavement. About a year ago I talked with a marathon runner who was very enthusiastic about the method. I didn't buy the book - probably should focus on the training I currently have working.
I also found another book that showed four different ways to tie a running shoe. I didn't buy that book either.
My first week back into running concluded with a 5.31km run on the treadmill.
Week 11
5 runs / 1 cycle
31.3km / 21.4km
4 hours 9 minutes
