I had a quality run today and managed to have it outside before the sun set. It's warm for February - but there was a nice strong wind going against me (wind gusts of 46km/h) for part of the way. It was interval training - 4 sets of 1km at 3:59minutes/km with 3 minute recover jogs.
My back seized up during the second set - and I had to slow down the pace. I think part of the problem was my mechanics, which I adjusted for the next two sets. The final set I was going straight into the wind (while it was gusting) which slowed me down. My minutes/km splits for the four intervals were: 4:09 / 4:46 / 4:15 / 4:27. Overall I was out for 8.41km. I thought after the second set this training run would be a disaster, but I was happy with the end results.
Hey Colin,
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you had some warm weather but can appreciate the melting snow and ice will play havoc with your training over the next few weeks.
I can’t believe the Country Grill has closed…a family favourite.
By the way we have chiro and massages covered under our plan. I have two amazing contacts if you want. It could really improve your training! Stay strong!
