I had the most miserable training session yet. The plan was for 2 miles easy, 2 x (10 minutes threshold pace with 2-minutes rest), 10 miles easy, 15 minutes threshold pace and finish off with 2 miles easy. I estimated it would be about 30km - which would have been my longest run to date.
I only ended up doing the 2/3 of the training - a total of 19.93km. There are many excuses I could use. Normally my long run is on a Sunday, so I'm not completing a quality workout after work. I didn't eat consistently throughout the day. I'm getting over a cold. The weather was miserable - and I didn't have the proper clothing (should have worn a hat and gloves). Seriously - it didn't seem to matter what direction I was running, north, south, east or west - the wind was against me.
I'm a bit surprised I got through as much as I did but part of that was because I was so far away from my condo when I decided things weren't going my way. I do have to be careful. I need to make sure that I'm not over training.
