I'm in Phase III of my training - and it feels like it. I had an 8am class and an open house in the evening - so I got back home shortly have 8pm. I had a quick dinner (some bread and cereal - a combination of Cheerios and Strawberry Bran Flakes), then hit the treadmill.
It was quality run today and I was not looking forward to it. I'm a bit shocked that I managed to make it through. It was 2 miles at easy pace and then 4 sets of 10 minutes at threshold (4:20 minutes/km) with 2 minute breaks. Then another 2 miles at easy pace. I had the treadmill at 7mph and 5% grade to simulate the threshold. After my last set I was going pretty slow for the final 2 miles - not even sure I completed the full 2 miles. But it was a good run. 1 hour 20 minutes was spent on the treadmill (and it didn't break down) - watching another episode of Survivor and The Chicago Code.
Phase III will have a lot of threshold runs - and some runs at marathon pace (including a half marathon I'm planning to run two weekends from now).
