I was e-mailing a friend of mine about the marathon today. He's run a few so I'm always trying to get more information that might help me in my run. Something that has been a bit worrying to me is making sure that I keep my goal pace throughout the marathon. He was telling me they have pace "bunnies" that will help you do that - find the guy with the time you want to finish in and then follow him along. I checked the Mississauga Marathon website and they run in 15 minute increments (3 hours 30 minutes, 3 hours 45 minutes, etc.)
I also had my annual checkup in the morning. There was a lot of waiting around - but I only have to worry about it once a year and you never know - they might catch a small problem before it gets to be a big problem. My doctor noticed that my heart had slowed - which means my heart is getting stronger. I was happy to hear that news.
Friday martial arts is usually a tougher work out than the rest of the week - tonight was no exception. I still got in a run afterward - 8.05km in 48 minutes.
