Day 96 - 71 Days To Go

A rest day. I tried to eat like I would for the Mississauga Marathon. Pancakes for breakfast (it didn't sit well, I'm not going to be doing that again), pasta for lunch, cereal and a bagel with peanut butter for dinner - along with Gatorade throughout the day (when I remembered).

I picked up my race kit from the Waterfront Hotel in downtown Burlington. They had an small expo there with various vendors but there wasn't anything that interested me. I ended up going to the Running Room where I picked up a container for my gels along with four packs of the GU Roctane (Blueberry Pomegranate) that I "enjoyed" during my long run last week. Each pack is $4. It does add up - but I figure it's better than carrying around a banana in your pocket.

The plan is to treat this race as a regular training session, which means a 2 mile run before and after the actual race. It does sound a bit ridiculous. The race itself I'm aiming for 1 hour 37 minutes - so about a 4:36 minute/km pace. The weather is changing overnight - so it won't be +6C but -4C (with windchill around -13C) at race time.

Week 14
5 runs
70.7km
6 hours 41 minute

Pledges: $755
