The only running related activity I had today was a final trip to the Running Room. They had ordered in a pouch for my running belt - which is the last piece of equipment I need before the race. The current pouch was too small and wouldn't hold all the gels I'm going to need for 42.2km.
The manager (owner? - he's always there) knows me by name - and quickly brought out the pouch. I also bought a few more gels - more than I need. He asked me when the race was - and then made a comment that I must be on the taper part of my training. He asked me how I was feeling - and I answered honestly - "sore". His explanation was that my body is reacting to the reduced stress - it thinks it can relax again.
